Detox Programs

Detoxification is the first step in recovery from drug or alcohol abuse. Attempting to detox without professional help can be physically and psychologically dangerous, and in some cases life-threatening. At Como Serenity Recovery, our clinical team provides medical comfort along with emotional and psychological support throughout withdrawal, so patients have a safe foundation to build healthy habits before moving into further treatment.

Clinically-Supervised (Medical) Detox

Our clinically-supervised detox uses medication to ease the negative symptoms of withdrawal under the constant care of medical staff. This process typically lasts up to 10 days and is recommended for people recovering from severe substance use, including heroin, alcohol, prescription opioids, benzodiazepines, and stimulants.

Social Detox

For patients who prefer or are able to withdraw without medication, our social detox program provides supervised support through group and individual therapy instead. It is a cost-effective, peer-supported approach that emphasizes mental health and well-being. A clinical evaluation helps determine whether social or medically-supervised detox is the safer fit for each patient.

Drug Detox

Our drug detox program clears substances from the body under close clinical supervision. The process includes evaluation, withdrawal management, medication support where appropriate, and 24/7 care. Detox is not a cure on its own, but it is the critical first step that allows patients to transition safely into residential care.

Alcohol Detox

Alcohol withdrawal can bring on symptoms ranging from tremors, nausea, and anxiety to more severe complications like seizures and hallucinations, so professional supervision matters. Our alcohol detox includes patient intake, a supervised medication regimen to manage withdrawal, and stabilization through medical and psychological support.

Opioid Detox

Opioid withdrawal can bring on anxiety, muscle aches, sweating, and insomnia early on, with more severe symptoms like vomiting and abdominal cramping as it progresses. Our opioid detox program includes evaluation, medically managed withdrawal, and 24/7 support to help patients get through this stage as safely and comfortably as possible.

Benzodiazepine Detox

Benzodiazepine withdrawal can be medically serious and typically moves through an acute withdrawal stage followed by a longer protracted withdrawal phase. Our clinical team manages this process carefully, tapering medication and monitoring patients closely to reduce risk and discomfort.

Cocaine Detox

Cocaine detox focuses on helping the body and mind recover from stimulant dependence, addressing both the physical crash and the psychological cravings that follow. Our team supports patients through this stage with close monitoring and a clear path into further treatment.

Marijuana Detox

While often underestimated, marijuana dependence can produce real withdrawal symptoms and cravings. Our marijuana detox program gives patients a structured, supported environment to work through withdrawal before moving into rehab.

Rehab Programs

Rehab is where lasting behavior change happens. Every treatment plan at Como Serenity Recovery is individualized, since no two patients arrive with the same history, triggers, or goals.

Alcohol Rehab

Alcohol Use Disorder is treatable, and recovery starts with a program built around the individual. Our alcohol rehab program begins with medical detox, then moves into cognitive behavioral therapy, individual therapy, and family therapy to address the root triggers behind drinking.

Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT)

MAT combines medication with counseling and behavioral therapy, primarily for opioid use disorder. Levels of Care

Nurse caring for a patient resting in a medical bed

Inpatient Treatment

Inpatient treatment means the patient stays at our facility 24 hours a day, seven days a week, under close medical and clinical supervision. This level of care is ideal early in recovery, especially during detox, when safety monitoring matters most. Most patients stay around 90 days, working through therapy and building the tools they need before returning home.

Residential Addiction Treatment

Residential treatment offers a home-like, community setting for patients who need more time and structure than outpatient care provides, without the 24/7 medical monitoring of inpatient treatment. Programs are open-ended, typically running from a few months up to a year depending on each patient's progress, and include drug and alcohol detox, individual therapy, group therapy, and gender-specific programming.

Personalized Therapy

Recovery includes more than physical detox. That’s why Como Serenity Recovery offers a range of therapeutic modalities so each patient gets an individualized treatment plan.

Individual Therapy

One-on-one sessions with a therapist give patients a safe space to explore the root causes of their addiction and build strategies to avoid relapse. Many sessions incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help patients recognize triggers and replace negative thought patterns with healthier ones.

Group Therapy

Group therapy brings patients together under the guidance of a therapist to work through shared challenges. Formats include cognitive-behavioral groups, psychoeducational groups, skills development groups, and support groups, each offering peer connection and accountability that one-on-one therapy can't fully replicate.

Holistic Therapy

Holistic therapy treats the whole person, not just the addiction, using non-medical techniques like yoga, meditation, art therapy, and mindfulness to build healthy coping skills. Our holistic programs include yoga and meditation, a gardening program, a juice bar and nutrition coaching, pet therapy, art and music therapy, and spiritual services and faith counseling.
